Trophies and Plaques Awarded
For many of the drivers, the time they spend shining their trucks for the judging will be worth the effort. Trophies and plaques, donated by trucking firms, individuals and local businesses, will be on display throughout the festivities and awarded to truckers after the parade on Saturday.
Competition actually begins for the "Lights of the Night" Convoy on Friday night, with all the entries parked at the Waupun Community Center after the parade.
Saturday's competition in the other categories begins at noon, before the parade. Plaques and trophies will be given out in over 300 classes, including a special trophy for the Truckers' Choice Award after the Parade.
Awards will be based on the general appearance of each vehicle. There will be between 25 and 40 judges working at the competition -- people who know trucks and have been involved with the trucking business.

Trucks are categorized for judging by the tractor and trailer combination. Some of the categories are broken down further by the age of the truck, with separate awards for different types of pickups and antiques.
Reefers, which are refrigerated trailers, and dry vans, which haul general freight, usually have the most entries.
Most of the trophies will be on display throughout the festivities, with presentations scheduled at the Waupun Community Center after the Saturday parade.
